Born in Pampano Beach, FL and native to upstate South Carolina, Austin Schulz moved to Charleston, SC in August 2004 and currently enjoys living in Mt Pleasant.
Photographer and graphic designer by trade for more than a decade has provided the ability to combine an array of different media in recent works and extend explorations of art and innovation.
Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Henri-Cartier Bresson, Richard Avedon, Roberto Edwards and numerous other photographers teach perception. Esher, Picasso, Dali and host of other painters are influential in the expansion of mind, art and technique from technical to abstract and surreal.
Printmaking has become a foundation of the Schulz’s artwork with experience in film developing, printmaking, screen printing, and current digital printing techniques. This has led to development of proprietary methods to color proof digital and reproduction services while consulting for fine artist John Duckworth for over three years.
Schulz is a conceptual artist whose paintings provoke the viewers to look deeper into their own life. Dipping pure color onto panels, painting over hand sketch drawing and relaying messages in mixed media artwork all contribute to demand by collectors.
