SCOOP Group Show
Reception: Friday, December 2, 2011, 5-8 pm

SCOOP studios proudly represents local and national emerging contemporary artists including Karen Ann Myers, Lisa Shimko, Bill Mead, Ben Timpson, Christopher Murphy, Kenton James, John Stango, Dorothy Netherland, Karin Olah, William Goodman and Stewart Young. Featured artists that have shown at SCOOP include Joel Parker, Steven Nicoll, Karin Collins, Arthur Newman, John Morse, Chad Haselden, Austin Schulz, Cyle Suesz, Scott Debus and Julio Cotto. Each have their own unique process and form of expression. The variety of mediums created by each artist are oil or acrylic paintings, mixed media with found objects, recycled fabric or paper collage, and copper that is torched, hammered and etched and photography. Their subjects focus on contemporary culture and political and iconic figures that challenge the viewer and themselves.

For the past 2 1/2 years, SCOOP studios Contemporary Art Gallery has brought the Charleston Art Scene compelling exhibitions that often challenged the artist as well as all the visitors who were fortunate to walk through the doors. On Friday, December 16, 5-8 pm, SCOOP studios invites all their supporters, friends and family to celebrate the holidays with the artists. This will be SCOOP’s final show and the doors will close on Saturday, December 17 at 5 pm. While the art work is returned to the artists the following week, December 19 - 23, gallery hours will be by appointment only by calling 843.735.9014 or email colleen@scoopcontemporary.com.
